Greenkeepers compound – Any ball coming to rest within the marked area surrounding the Greenkeepers sheds, adjacent to the eighth hole, defined by the inside edge of any white lines or stakes around the greenkeepers compound, is out of bounds.

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS (Rule 16-1)

Relief under Rule 16-1 MUST be taken from:-

a) All areas bounded by blue or white lines and marked as No Play Zone (NPZ).

b) All areas indicated by blue stakes and/or No Play Zone (NPZ) notices.

c) If a players ball lies in or touches any seam of cut turf in the General Area or a seam interferes with the players area of intended swing. Interference does not exist if the seam only interferes with the players stance.

d) Planted borders – All planted borders within the course

Relief under Rule 16-1 MAY be taken from:-

e) Tyre marks – A ball coming to rest on any significant tyre mark, not including a shallow indentation.

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16-1)

a) All artificially surfaced roads and paths are immovable obstructions. All other roads and paths are integral objects, in which case the ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 19).

b) Fixed sprinkler heads and immovable obstructions close to the putting green –

In addition to relief from immovable obstruction under rule 16-1, if a ball lies on or off the putting green but not in a penalty area, and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball

intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, relief may be also be obtained under Rule 16-1 from interference by that immovable obstruction.

PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES

Young trees identified by stakes, collars or tubes, or under one club length in height. If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16-1.

EMBEDDED BALL IN GENERAL AREA (Rule 16-3)

In the general Area, a ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and must be dropped and come to rest within the Relief Area. The Relief Area is determined as one club length from the Reference Point, being the spot immediately behind where the ball is embedded, which is also within the General Area and no nearer the hole than the Reference Point. A player may not obtain relief under this if it is clearly unreasonable for the player to make a stroke because of interference by anything other than the condition covered by this rule.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

For all play, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4-3 a (1).

Players should be aware of pedestrians using the Right Of Way across holes 3,4,11,12,13 & 16, and should not play when pedestrians are crossing the line of play.
