SOCIAL GOLF:
As a mark of respect to the Captain, on the loss of his sister Gerrardine, the Social tonight is cancelled.
INTERCLUB:
This weekend is a busy one for the ladies teams with The Revive Active team taking on Rathcore on Saturday at 3pm. They have 2 matches at home and 3 away.
Both the Minor Cup and Challenge Cup teams are in action in Carton House on Sunday with the Minor Cup team playing against Headfort at 2:30 and the Challenge Cup team playing Ashbourne @ 3:15.
Finally on Saturday, the Jimmy Bruen team have their stroke play qualifying event in Kilcock at 12:30 where they hope to qualify for the match play element which takes place on the Sunday.
PHOTOGRAPHS REQUIRED:
The club will be launching a new website over the coming weeks and we would like to have as many photographs of both the club and clubhouse on it so that we can show it off to potential members and visitors.
With this in mind we are asking members to submit any photos they may have of the course or clubhouse to blackbushphotos@gmail.com for inclusion on the website. The photos used will have to be in landscape orientation to fit on the webpages.
Note: Please bear in mind photos should not include members or visitors, and the taking of photos should not be the cause slow play!
JOKER:
The Joker draw will take place tonight. The Jackpot is €1,700. Remember to get your entries in. It could be you.
NR’S (NON RETURN) AND NC’S (NO CARD)
An NC (also an NR) is when the player does not return a card after the competition.
An NR in common usage is where a player enters a no score at one or more holes in a strokes competition and consequently does not have a score.
It is the players responsibility always to sign for and return a card, irrespective of the score or whether or not he/she has completed the round. A note can be written on the card to explain why the round was not completed as there may well be valid reasons.
In stroke-play and stableford, an NC automatically leads to an increase of .1 in the players handicap. However, the situation is different for NRs. For handicap purposes, a nett double bogey score is applied at a hole where a player fails to record a score. With a handicap allowance of one shot on each, this will be a 6 at a par 3, a 7 at a par 4 and an 8 at a par 5. (Nett Double Bogey adjustment) This essentially means that very poor scores on a few holes do not automatically lead to an increase of .1
Failure to return cards puts extra work on the team handling the cards after the competition. Failure to return cards can also impact on the CSS for the day.
So, please always sign and return your card.
