But we need to ensure that certain things are carried out correctly to ensure that we can continue to run competitions so it’s imperative that members follow the procedures listed below
Procedure for competition entry (rules)
1: Money placed in an envelope and clearly labelled with Name, Day, Date and amount in envelope and placed in competition entry box in the club shop
2: You must fill in a card with your playing partners details on it
Name, handicap, Competition entered, date and tees played from
On completion of the round you sign your playing partners card once you have both agreed the scores and the details are filled in correctly.
3: All players must enter their scores online via the Howdidido APP which should be easily performed by the majority of players (players unable to do this must contact the committee)
4: All completed cards must be returned into the relevant scorecard box in the club shop or the letterbox on the side of the clubhouse (only if the shop is closed).
5: Players must Endeavour to fully record every score for every hole even when NR entered for say a lost ball this does not mean a player must continue to play every hole to completion if struggling and holding up play but for handicap purposes for the rest of the competition the more scores the merrier.
6: Players must not leave the course mid round unless for a valid reason like injury or illness and this should be indicated on your scorecard and agreed by playing partners.
leaving a reduced number of players from a tee time on the course will mean the remaining players will have a long wait between shots and will reduce their enjoyment.
7: Entering a Major draw and then removing your name because you aren’t happy with the players you have been drawn with or you are not happy with your teetime is not acceptable.
A reduced number of players once the tees have been allocated can cause players to be a two or three ball in the middle of a field of fourballs and will cause long waiting times between shots and results in a miserable round for the remaining players.
8: Any player not going to use their tee time should remove themselves with plenty of notice so that someone else could make use of the spare place.
Failure to comply with the rules for competition entry could result in the committee issuing a code of conduct penalty which will consist of a two week suspension from all competitions
