Both Cheshire areas have been added to the list as an 'area of concern' because of an increase in cases and a rise in infection rates.
On Thursday (1st October) Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced local lockdowns for Warrington, Halton and the whole of Merseyside because of a rise in coronavirus cases and infection rates. Greater Manchester Boroughs are also still included in the local areas with restrictions.
It means there is now a ban on social-mixing between people in different households in those areas. No one will be able to mix with any other households in any indoor setting, including restaurants and pubs.
England Golf have issued local lockdown guidance which states that “Clubhouses may remain open for food and beverage but Government advises against socialising with people from other households in such areas. Those running facilities are advised to take steps to encourage people from different households to not socialise together.”
Therefore the Board have agreed that with immediate effect anyone living in areas affected by local lockdowns will be asked not to enter the Clubhouse, other than for the use of toilets and wash-hand basins.
For those living in areas not affected by local lockdowns the rules are:
1. No more than 6 people per table.
2. Food and beverage service is restricted to table service only. You must not order or stand at the bar.
3. You must keep social distance from others that are not at your table.
4. Face coverings must be worn by everyone, unless exempt, in all general areas of the Clubhouse including the Pro Shop, removing them only when seated to consume food and drink.
5. You will be refused service and asked to vacate the premises if you do not follow the new government rules.
6. It is everyone's responsibility to work together and use common sense, to ensure the safety of yourself and others at this time.
Thank you once again for your patience, support and continued co-operation during these testing times.
