Good Morning,
WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
Following the recent update to the government guidelines and restrictions relating to the different COVID alert level tiers - namely medium, high and very high tiers, I thought I would try and provide some clarity, as far as I can establish anyway!
Please note that this is based on current guidelines, and as and when the situation changes then we will reassess our protocols and advise you accordingly.
On the course
Golf can continue to be played in accordance with the existing "A Guide to Safe Golf during COVID-19" guidance. Players travelling from medium, high and very high COVID alert level tiers can continue to access the golf course, irrespective of whether they are playing with people in the same household/support bubble or with members of other households. The practice facilities will continue to operate as normal.
Off the course
Tier 1 – Medium COVID Alert Level
For anyone who resides in areas classified as Tier 1(medium risk), the Clubhouse will continue to cater for tables/groups of up to six people. Tables can continue to be made up of individuals from up to six different households, provided that all individuals reside in areas of medium risk – proof may be required. Golfers in one group must avoid merging with golfers from other groups to create a single gathering larger than six people and refrain from table-hopping.
Tier 2 – High COVID Alert Level
For anyone who resides and is travelling from a Tier 2 area, (high risk) the Clubhouse will only cater for groups living in the same household/support bubble on one table. No mixing of households is permitted if living within a high COVID alert level tier. Albeit the terrace remains very much an open-space (in other words ‘a little chilly’) we can continue to cater for groups of up to four people, from up to four different households. Again, golfers in one group must avoid merging with golfers from other groups to create a single gathering larger than six people and refrain from table-hopping.
(the restriction to 4 people on the terrace is because of the size of tables and the need to respect the 1m+ ruling)
These are challenging times, and I ask for your patience and support as we endeavour to continue to provide a safe environment for all Members and Visitors. With summer behind us, the opportunity to accommodate all Members and Visitors within the Clubhouse at peak times is stretching us beyond our restricted capacity, you may have to wait; your consideration of the fact that the Club is doing all it can is appreciated.
Travel to and from the Club must continue to be in accordance with government regulations. Should you be bringing a guest, it is imperative that you ensure you have provided their contact details within the Tee Time Booking Sheets, and it is incumbent upon you to establish their area of residency and whether they are traveling form a Tier 1 or Tier 2 area.
Thank You.
