New Lockdown Arrangements
5th January 2021
Further to last night’s announcement by the Prime Minister I wish to clarify the arrangements that are being put into place to navigate the Club through the next few weeks. The Board of Directors have agreed to devolve decision making powers to a smaller working group comprising, the Chairman Graham Green, vice Chairman Rob McKee and Director Gerry Gaskell.

CLUBHOUSE
The Clubhouse will remain closed, although Derek will be checking the building daily. I will also be on site Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Contractors building the Swing Room extension are currently on site and are hoping to complete the project by early February.

The Office will operate remotely with Becca, Tash and myself working under the part time Furlough provisions. Calls to the Office can be answered, however the best form of communication remains via email please.

Regrettably, we have once again had to Furlough our entire Food & Beverage team.

GOLF COURSE
The Greenkeeping Team will be placed on Furlough / Part Time Furlough, carrying out essential maintenance tasks. The Contractors carrying out our course improvement works will return to site tomorrow and are hoping to complete the remaining tasks by the end of January/early February.

PROFESSIONAL’S SHOP
Unfortunately, the Shop will be closed, however our online shop remains open 24 hours per day, click the read more link at the foot of this email. Matt will also be announcing some special offers as well as details of a new fortnightly ‘lock down’ draw.

CAN I WALK THE COURSE?
We are not preventing members from coming onto the course to exercise, however, those wishing to do so should contact the Office each time they wish to do so. If you do walk on the course please be aware of the new lockdown regulations around exercising……… “You can only exercise with one person at a time, and you should not exercise more than once per day. What’s more, you should not travel outside your local area. There should also be a distance of 2m (6 ft) between you and your walking partner (or 1m with extra precautions, such as a face covering).”

It is important to stay out of the Contractor’s working area on the 4th, 5th and 8th holes as well as the 12th tee area, where vehicles will be operating. The gates into the Clubhouse Car Park will be closed throughout the day.

CLUB FINANCES
Inevitably we will suffer some reduction in income throughout January and possibly through February and into March. The Club finances can cope with this and the Furlough measures mentioned above as well as utilising the additional Government Grants announced will help to mitigate any reduction in income.

This is a hugely frustrating time for everyone connected with the Club but we have no alternative other than to comply with the new rules and all play our part in ensuring that we can return to golf safely. When we do eventually return to ‘normal’ it is sure to be a memorable year both on and off the course. In the meantime, please stay safe.
