Bel, a former student at Cheadle Hulme School, said: “2020 was a complete wash out as far as competitive golf was concerned.
“It was difficult to stay positive and focussed but I've spent much of the time in recent months on strength and conditioning which has certainly gained me some valuable yards. I also managed to improve my course record at Prestbury with a 63.
“Disappointment came in cancellations of the Augusta National for which I had an invite to play in prior to the Masters and Curtis Cup.
“The current work on my game is mainly minor adjustments to my swing but nothing major. Control of my swing, focus on short game and consistency of strike have been my additional focus.
”My ambitions for 2021. To play in the Augusta National (COVID Willing!) and possible Curtis Cup and the main aim is to potentially turn professional towards end of the year.
“I would like to thank my team: coach Richard Green (Bramhall GC), Drew Roberts (Strength and Conditioning) and Prestbury Members and Mark Pilling (Prestbury and Cheshire East PGA coach) who always wish me well.”
