Following a report from one of our neighbours regarding a stray golf ball striking his property I would like to draw your attention to the Player Code of Conduct, and in particular the section headed "Safety":

No player should play until all in front are out of range and, in fog, not to hit the ball further than the player can see. Players should ensure that no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by the club, the ball or any stones, pebbles, twigs or the like when they make a stroke or practice swing.

Players should always alert green staff nearby or ahead when they are about to make a stroke that might endanger them. The footpath crossing holes 1, 6, 9, 14 and 18 is a public right of way.

If your ball is heading in a direction where there is a danger of it hitting someone, shout a warning immediately. The traditional word of warning is “fore!”.

Players are requested to take every effort to aim away from the left-hand side of the 15th hole. Anyone who hits a ball onto or over Chelford Road, into the Club car parks or into any other neighbouring property MUST notify the Club Office or Professional’s Shop on completion of their round, as this is essential for insurance purposes. If neither the Club Office nor Professional’s Shop are open when you have completed your round, then please notify us by email via david@prestburygolfclub.com.
