Greens Update

Just a quick update on some work recently done on Hawkshill.
Along with the continued tree/branch clearing, the guys have hollow cored some of the weak areas on the greens. They were then top dressed and seeded and brushed in by hand. Growth sheets were then pinned down to cover these areas. The growth sheets will keep the areas protected from frost, wind and birds and help speed up the germination process by trapping heat and moisture.
This method was discussed recently during the visit from the European Tour Director of Agronomy Eddie Adams and should help the last stubborn areas fully recover for the season ahead.
