Update on Club Competitions and General Play Scores recording for the 2022 season
Members,
As we approach the start of the 2022 season, the golf sub committee would like to issue some information regarding club competitions and general play scores.
Over the past 2 seasons it has become the norm to record scores on HowDidIDo and the computer without the use of scorecards. While we will now encourage all members playing in club competitions to use scorecards to keep the score of their playing partner(s) during the round, the scorecards themselves do not need to be submitted in the 'box' on completion of the round. Please confirm scores with your playing partner(s) on completion of your round and enter your score via HowDidIDo or the computer only and take your scorecard home with you or place it in the bin.
Many of you will have noticed in the fixture list that Wednesday medal sweeps have been left out for the 2022 season. The main reason for this was due to the low number of entrants, but also due to the option for members to submit 'general play' scores. It has been agreed in consultation with the Head Greenkeeper that due to the removal of Wednesday medal sweeps, on a Wednesday only, members may play from the white medal tees to submit a 'general play' score. Casual play from the white tees is not permitted at any time and 'general play' scores on all other days must be from the yellow tees.
When submitting 'general play' scores, members are reminded that these scores should be entered via the Scottish Golf app. The handicap secretary is not responsible for submitting the scores so please do not post 'general play' scorecards in the box as these will not be recorded.
The deadline for entries to the Gents knockout competitions is Wesnesday 18th May. Entry for these competitions is now live and will be via ClubV1 / HowDidIDo apps and the draws for these will also be published on these platforms. Please put entry fees for these competitions in the box by the entry deadline. All finals will be played on Club Finals Day on Sunday 28th August so please ensure you will be available on this date when entering.
Finally, a reminder that Opening Day is this Sunday with names to be in by 11.15am. The forecast is looking great so come along to support the Captain and the club as we kick off the 2022 season.
