We had a shot gun start at 9.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. with full timesheets for both events. The drive-in happened at 1.30pm when the captains arrived in their county jerseys with flags flying, sitting on the back of a vintage Mercedes. We felt so much support from our members and we thank you for turning out in force.
We had a wonderful dinner and entertainment in the evening again with a full restaurant in the presence of our families and club members. This was a true Delgany event. It would not have been such a success without the help of so many people lead by our vice Captains Betty and Tom. Many thanks to our Competitions Secretaries Ann and John for setting up the competition and preparing the cards in advance to ensure ease of registra- tion and score checking. To all other volunteers, particularly those from the Ladies Committee we thank you. We are grateful to our Delgany “troubadours” lead by Jim Blake who entertained us through the evening . Thank you to Shane our Chef and his team and Jamie, Kevin and the team in the bar for looking after us so well during the day and evening. We hope you enjoy some of the photos that Tony Corcoran and others very kindly took on the day and we really appreciate the efforts of everybody who made this one of the very special days of our captaincies.
