Terms of the Competition for all competitions
These rules apply to all competitions unless stated in the relevant competition entry requirements.



ELIGIBILITY

• Open to both Men and Ladies 16 and over who are members of the SLGA
• Must have Amateur status under R&A rules
• Must have a current WHS handicap index.
• Max handicap index - 28 Men, 36 Women


FORMAT

Medal
• 18 hole individual Stroke Play
• Handicap Allowance is 95% of Course Handicap as per R&A rules.

Stableford
• 18 hole Individual Stableford
• Handicap Allowance is 95% of Course Handicap as per R&A rules.


TEES (Mandatory)

• Ladies play off RED TEES, Men under 50 BLUE TEES, Men Over 50 WHITE TEES.


DIVISIONS AND RESULTS

• All results are provisional until formally sent out the Monday proceeding the competition via email as well as posted on HDID.
• Prizes will be in the form of gift vouchers redeemable at Sandals Golf & Country Club, Cap Estate.
• To ensure the integrity of net competitions, the SLGA may not accept a score with a differential of 9.0 or more that is below the player’s current handicap index, unless there is undeniable evidence that the score was legitimate from the player's previous competition score history. A score this low defies the odds of handicapping and their handicap index clearly does not represent their skill level.


Medal
• Two equally numbered divisions 0-13, and 14+ (subject to change based on number of entrants)
• 1st Gross in each tee box category (Men -50, Men 50+, Ladies).
o Tie breaks determined on gross countback of back 9,6,3,1 and if still tied then front 9,6,3,1. If still tied then a coin toss will be used to determine the winner.
• 1st and 2nd Net in each division
o Tie breaks determined on net countback of back 9,6,3,1 and if still tied then front 9,6,3,1. If still tied then a coin toss will be used to determine the winner.
• Only one prize per player - Net supersedes Gross

Stableford

• 1st and 2nd Net Points in each division.

ENTRY FEE

• $40 payable in cash at the pro shop before you play. FAILURE WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFCATION
o Breakdown is $10 to SLGA, $30 to prize fund.


BOOKING

• Must be done via the HDID app/website or touchscreen terminal in clubhouse
• Opens the Monday the week prior to the competition.
• Closes the Thursday before the competition


DRAW

• Random draw either amongst all players or between handicaps and/or divisions at 6pm the Thursday before the competition.
• Tee times will be from 11.30am to 1.30pm. 4 Players to a tee time and 10 mins between times.
• Draw will be visible on HDID and will also be emailed out the Friday before the competition.
• Contact the captain for cancellations. Failure to do so may result in the entry fee having to be paid.

GENERAL RULES

• R&A Rules of Golf govern all play.
• Players must be ready to play at their exact starting time and starting point as set by the committee. Failure will result in disqualification with the following exceptions:
o Player arrives at starting time and point no more than 5 minutes late – General penalty applied to their first hole
o Committee decides that exceptional circumstances preventing player from starting on time, therefore there is no breach.
• Play the ball as it lies. NO MOVEMENT. Subject to change based on conditions.


SCORECARDS

Physical scorecards:
• Must be signed by the player and attested/signed by the marker.
• Must be returned personally by the named player on the card, before the close of the competition (30 mins after the final group have finished) to the official scorer of the day in the clubhouse.
• Once a scorecard has been handed to the scorer it is considered returned and no alterations can be made.

Penalty for breach is disqualification.

Electronic scoring:
• Players are required to submit their own scores electronically via the HDID app or clubhouse touchscreen before the close of the competition (30 mins after the final group have finished). If players are unable to post a score electronically then they must notify the published official scorer for the day who will be able to post the score on their behalf. Penalty for breach is disqualification.

NOTE – both physical and HDID scores must match. However if posted HDID score is higher then this score will be allowed to stand. If HDID score is lower then player is DISQUALFIED.
