104 players enjoyed the new alternative winter course at East Sussex National with 53 members from other clubs. The new tees will be used as and when fairways become too wet to play during the winter months and can be used as a short course experience for those wishing to spend less time on the golf course in the winter.

Scoring proved very difficult with only a 40% handicap allowance applied to the shortened course, but with holes played over water to tough pins the best gross score and new course record was 55 gross by Dean Plant.

Peter Rodger ( West Hove GC ) won the stableford competition with an impressive 37pts only receiving 4 strokes, he pipped Sterling Wakefield also on 37pts on countback.

Swati Patel (Piltdown GC ) won the Ladies event with an equally impressive 30pts off the same tees with Sue Davis & Sue Adams (Piltdown GC) in second on 28pts.

The Hill Barn Team of Matt Bourne, Paul Gorringe , Pete Stoner & Chris Bevan won the team event with 83pts. (-11)

Ladies 4th – Annie Dixon ( Piltdown GC )

No one manage to Hole-in-one over the water on the 16th Hole to claim the special prize although there were a few candidates for nearest to the Duck!
