Mark can often be found playing his one-man band at halftime for his beloved Uckfield Football Club, he hit all the right notes today as he defended his no.1 spot. Week 1 of the Ladder competition took place today in beautiful sunshine with a fresh Autumnal breeze. The greens were rolling perfectly with 46 members playing and enjoying the day. The top two players, Mark O’Hara & Duncan Innes found the conditions testing as they played out a close match ending on the 18th green with Duncan missing his 10ft putt to extend the match. Pace of play was generally good, although the top match did lose 2 holes on the group Infront, so improvement required next week to avoid fines. In other matches , Will Gibb defeated Dean Plant 6 & 4 while Club Champion, Tom Foreman won comfortably. There were several close matches with Jon Osborne moving into 3rd to play in the top match next week.
